Unexplained Infertility:4 miscarriages
2008-04-03
Name: Priya

Hi

I am 34 and had 4 miscarriages. In all the 4 cases it was the problem of the heart beat of the baby.In the first two there was no heart beat at all and in the 3rd & 4 it came and just disappeared before the 7th Week.My husbank had some mortility problem.Doctor has now done the test caryotyping for me and the reslult was ok.He also gave my some injection called HLT saying that may be in pregnancy some antibodies are developing in my body and it is fighting against the baby as a foreign body.He said that this injections are helpful in some case. Now I have done one IUI which was not successfull. Now this month doctor said me to try normally. Can any one hlp me one this. Can I have a successfull pregnancy even after 4 miscarriages.Should I have to go for IVF immemdiately rather than trying for IUI

Thanks & regards

Priya

Hi Priya,
Sorry for the late reply. No, I haven' t heard of LIT treatment or HLT injections. I will ask my doctor about it. I was told that main reason for missing heartbeat could be that the sperms and eggs didn' t match (abnormal) eventhough they fertilized properly. The doc never even mentioned about LIT treatment or HLT injections. I' m thinking if I should still continue with the same doc? So far, I' ve not got any possitive result and it is becoming very frustrating.

You hang in there and everything will be fine. That' s what I' m doing.

Take care
Vai

Hi Priya,

I' ve also had 2 miscarriages so far. both times the problem was that the heart beat was missing even after 12 weeks. My doc says that this happened because of the abnormal embryos. I have been through 4 IUIs and 3 IVFs. Last two IVFs were successful initially and then failed due to lack of heart beat. Now, i' m so tired of the procedure and medicine, we have decided to take a break and try naturally. I' ve missed my period but i' m too terrified to do a home test. I' m not ready to see the negative result so not checking it. BTW, I have been diagnosed with PCOS so the periods could be delayed by weeks (though I' ve been having regular periods for last almost 2 years).

Keep your hopes up! Wish you all the best!

Hi Vaidehi
Thanks for the e-mail.I am very sad to hear the difficult situation you have gone through.I have tried 2 IUI but both unsuccessful.I was suggesting my husband that we will go through an IVF.I am not sure what will happen.Have you tried the injection called HLT.I don´ t have a through knowledge but doctor explained to me that they are collecting the white blood cells from my husband and injecting to me and it was taken for 5 moths, one per month. They said that when the mothers antibodies are rejecting the baby next time this injection may help because it has the antibodies from the father whcih might help the featus.
Further is there any good news for you.

Any how all the best.

Priya

You can try few cycle of IUI but don' t waste too much time if it is not successful. Also you need to get PGD (Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis ) with the IVF cycle since you have history of miscarriages and it is really helpful for ivf success with this kind of history.
good luck

IVF via Donor Sperm
Hi, we are planning for ivf via donor sperm as we have genetic history wherein my daughter is ASD and mine own brother is ADHD hence genetic counselor said there is risk of 15-20 percent of child being autistic if we use our own gamet. If male child is born the risk is higher than a girl child.

Hence we thought to go for donor sperm. But there is still... - SS [View Message]
