Breastfeeding:Achintkaur, causes of ur probs & when to worry

It's impossible for me to say what it is without evaluating you and the discharge. also, i would rely on your what you mentioned about your tests and reports.

Nipple discharges are very common and most are benign (not associated with cancer).

They are not again \";normal,\"; with respect to what happens to everyone.. however, and must always be evaluated by your physician who will probably do a thorough breast exam and try to express some of the material to send it for a Pap smear.

Since all your test have been normal there is not much one can do to further evaluate this problem.have you get the pap smear done..

also, keep going thru the test on periodic basis. i dont want to scare you but there is 0.999999 % possibility that it might be an early sign of brreast cancer. since as of now you have been prescribed proctinal andd b-long which are the medicines prescribed to breast cancer patient that had similar problem that you have even years before they were detected with breastcancer or lumps were visible after couple or more years..
i dont want to scare you for this, but i would like you to take a second opinion to throw some lights on other aspects of this matter.so that things clear out further.

also, it all also matters as to when actually in your daytime or night time, this leakage happens..or in some cases it was found that it happened only on first day of periods/monthly cycles. so depending on these factors your dr should be able to decide about the whole matter.

With a milky discharge(without pain or lumps, in normal human body), it's usually a hormonal imbalance. As a result, your doctor has recommend a blood test to measure your prolactin level. also, want to add to this that, considering yours is the normal healthy body, your dr might have given you medication to regulate these prolactin levels.since they arent working, we can think of this matter as a premature sign of some other problems that might be a worry !

Prolactin is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland, which is responsible for lactation. Some pituitary tumors, even tiny ones called microadenomas, can cause excess prolactin secretion that can lead to milky nipple discharge, usually from both breasts & often most of the times in a day irrespective of ne particular activity that you happen to do or your monthly cycles.

Some medicines such as those for depression, anxiety, hormone replacement or birth control may also cause increased prolactin levels.
so if you have taken ne such medication in past, this could be possibly the result of those side effects. if this is the case, there is not much to worry about, then to wait for its regulation and might stop on its own.
however, if this side effect has led you to oversecreation of prolactin, then further might lead to some unwanted problem that is again to worry.

best thing to do in such a situation is to note that keep checking with your reports and lets hope they always come normal.

other thing is most bloody or watery nipple discharges result from a benign condition such as papilloma or infection. A papilloma is a non-cancerous, wart-like tumor with a stalk that has grown inside the breast duct. but since your reports have come normal, there is no reason for this..however, in future, i would suggest to keep goin thru the test to ensure that there is nothing to worry about.

Other benign conditions that cause suspicious nipple discharge include fibrocystic conditions or duct ectasia (widening and hardening of the duct due to age or damage).
if this is the cause considering your age or damage done to nipple, there is only onething that can be done, if needed, by some medication, the widenining can be stopped and hardening of ducts can be prevented. so in this case, it will be a phase, that might stop, once you cross you menopose age.however, if the hardening is not prevented, it could lead to some unwanted results that we dont want to hear.

A nipple discharge is more likely to be of concern if it is bloody or watery with a red, pink, or brown color; if it is sticky and clear or brown to black in color; if it appears spontaneously without squeezing the nipple; if it is persistent; if it occurs only on one side; or if it is a fluid other than breast milk.THEN ONLY ITS A MATTER OF CONCERN..or else its something that is expected to stop on its own..

hope this relieved you somewhat.

Good Luck, and nothing wrong in taking a second opinion, may be things might turn a bit different there and prob the other drs' medication might work for you.

also, note that this is all i knew that was upto my reach of knowledge,,further regarding this, i have nothing to explain as far as this matter is concerned.also, if i come accross other aspects of this, i will surely let you know.

so good luck and i sincerely hope that things turn better in your case further.

RE:Adult breast feeding
I was not breastfeed in my childhood hence the idea of sucking and feeding from a woman's full, engorged breasts has infatuated me. It is a fantasy that drives me wild like nothing else, just the thought of laying my head in a woman's lap while she brings her swollen nipples to my mouth. Ideally, I'd like to finally explore this with the right female. If you are in or near... - Sanjayhyd [View Message]
