Hi Archie,
I am in my 37th week and my due is on 27th oct. I had gone for an ultrasound and two findings are slightly worrying me, please give your comments on these:
1. posterior placenta of grade-I maturity
2. color doppler shows umblical cord overlying the fetal neck at the time of scan.
I am yet to meet my doc. what queries do you feel i shd ask her also, initially i told her i wanted to go for a c-sec but till last visit she has said that she will wait for a normal.
looking at these findings what shd i do wait for a normal, or insist on a c-sec. i know all this is not in the hands of the doctor also but felt i can mentally prepare myself. please give ur comments.

Placenta posterior is not an issue that's where it is supposed tobe. Also Grade I is a maturity and as long as it's not Calcifying which is after Grade III you are not having any issues with Placenta, Even Chetna Grade II is fair and fine.

Both of you don't have issue with placenta. In fact if labor delays you can go 2 weeks more than estimated EDD.

cord loop is most likely to get resolved and not going to cause problem, unless any of you two find poor or feable fetal movements, in which case you will report as soon as possible to your Dr.

i am also sailing in the same boat. This is my 39th week. I too have posterior placenta grade II. Also there is a single loop of cord arund the baby's neck. I had a discussion with my doctor. She says she wuld definitely go in for normal delivery ...and its very much possible to deliver vaginally with both these issues. She was very positive hence i am not thinking abut this much.
