Hi, We are a PIO / Australian childless couple living in India for 3 months now. We will be here for another 5 years +... has anyone in a similar situation adopted in India. Do you know if we are allowed to - or do we need to get permission from Australia / High Commission?

Were you able to find any information about the adoption process of a PIO in India? Sameera replied. Good adoption agencies will have the answers. There may be legalities, pl get your info only from reliable sources, it will prevent a lot of headache. In Pune, check with SOFOSH or BSSK..... where are you based? Look in the telephone book for the adoption agencies but avoid the ones that you cannot check the antecedents of.
