Sleeping:10 month old not sleeping good at night

Hi,
I have a 10 monthold who hasn't slept through the night a single day since he was born.till he was 7 months old we didn't bother much but now he wakes up every 2 hrs or even 1 hr. he is not hungry...won't take any milk or even water..he is totally on formula now and i have also started giving him plain water (not boiled) for formula and everything. He sleeps around one and a half hrs in morning and abt the same in the afternoon.I put him to sleep around 9 at night but he is sleepy around 8 itself...
I think now both me and my husband have started losing patience as we don't know why he wakes up...he doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort. He just wakes up and sits up crying...sometimes will go back to sleep if we rock him for 2 mins...sometimes it goes on for abt 1 hr.
If anybody has any suggestions please tell me as i have exhausted all methods i knew to get him to sleep through the night. Also we were in india for 2 months and now have come to florida.before that we were in atlanta where he was born.he sleeps with us.should we make him sleep in his crib?Awaiting any suggestions.
Thanks
Snigdha

Forgot to say that making the baby sleep in the crib is a good idea as both parents and baby is comfortable. You can start by making him used to the crib during the day then when he is used to that ,put him in it at night. I put my baby in the cot in our room when she was 1 week old and by now she is comfortable in it by herself.

Hi! I have a 10mnth old and same problem, it was aggravated when we moved to a new apartment. So i thought it is the change. Now it is better, i started to give her semisolids around 8p.m and formula before making her sleep around 10.30 so she sleeps better maybe you can try this. All the best

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

Hi dear this is good to see that you are taking so much care about your kid but then is your kid following this pattern as my kid has a very odd hours sleep and wake up timings and by that we all get affected as my husband is having morning shifts so its very difficult.... - Anu [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
