Due Date Club January 2007:Miscarriage Risk till what month?

Hi All,

I am a 1st time pregnant. Just I heard from many people that 1st 3 months we got to be very careful & the chance of miscarriage is high in this period.

Is it true? If yes, till which week is this risk high ? I am in my 11th week now .Was just anxious to know !

Can some one kindly clarify ?

In my 8th week U/S,the baby's heartbeat was normal. Next week(12th),I will ask my dr for a check again.

its highest in first 3 months, medium to high in 4 and 5th month and later on, mostly there are no worries ! you sail nicely after 4-5th month..thats y dr advice to travel amongst those months !

Hi,

i am from Dec 06 board and i understand how you would be feeling ....

After you see the fetal heart beat in u/s around 8 weeks, you have ~90% chances of having a healthy baby, i think it increases to ~95-97% after 12 weeks and seeing the heartbeat in the doppler monitor ...

u know, there is always the chcnace and if you search in the internet or read , i feel that this small percnetage of chance is unnecessarily magnified to huge numbers...

think abt it, whatin life is certain ..nothing ..right ?? , but even then we live on and go through with it acc to what we ahve planned almost all the times .... this applies for this also ...

try not to worry much and foster positve thoughts ....

Hi Anu,

I am in my 12th week.

I have heard the same thing. that first 3 months is crucial. Just be urself. Dont try any new things.
Dont be anxious. God is great. Everything will be alright.
