Hi everyone,

I have not replied as I have had a major one week, il start from the beginning on monday 19th dec i went to hospital as my bp was very high 170/100 constant and i had a major headache but felt well they checked baby and she was fine, my urine came back with no protein and they let me go with additional medication. On thur which is my routine appt my urine had shown protein so my consultant decided she wanted me monitored so i went to labour ward where they wanted to do a 24hr urine collection, they also monitored my bp which was still high, i forced my consultant to let me go home in the evening telling her i will bring the 24hr urine collection in 2mrw she said only if u take the steriod injection she said u will probably have to deliver this baby before 37wks she said maybe 36 or 35wks which was a shock for me but still not too bad. I wasnt well at all at home very drained constant heaviness in head and generally not feeling like myself, on friday i went with my urine collection and my consultant met me again stating this baby may come in the next couple of weeks so we need to give u another steroid injection,i was so upset to hear this i was only 31wks i cudnt imagine having this baby at 33wks and going home knowing this just stressed me out more and obviously didnt help the bp. On saturday morning i felt much better i went last minute shopping for xmas and was feeling pretty good until i got a call frm my consultant stating that i have 4grms of protein in my urine and my kidneys may fail i had to go in urgently they said we need to deliver this baby 2mrw morning which was xmas day, now i was in complete shock i kept saying im not ready i dont want to have this baby 2mrw but my hubby and parents where with me and decided that i had to go in otherwise my life was it risk, at the hospital i was on a drip for magnesium and other drugs to relax the brain so i dont stroke or have a fit, they told my family i had severe preeclempsia and i could have a stroke any time so they had a midwife in my room the whole night monitoring my bp, temp,i had loads of injections and tablets, thankgod with all this stress baby was fine her hb was perfect, on sunday morning the administered the spinal epidural at about 9am and by 9.32am my beautiful baby girl was born she didnt make any noise for the 1st 2/5seconds and then suddenly she started crying, it was a grt feeling they showed her to me, my hubby had a cuddle and the took her to intensive care, i have recovered well, my stitches were out on thursday and was discharged, my baby is doing well she only has a feeding pipe but she started sucking on the bottle, her temp is settling so in a couple of days she will be out of the incubator in a cot, she is breathing fine without assistance moving like mad, smiling opening her eyes, holding hands and doing what a little new born does, im thinking another couple of weeks and she should me home with me she just needs to gain weight now she was 3pound 6 ounce at 31wks. Im finding it really hard leaving her in hospital as a mum u want ur baby home with u but my family are helping out loads and are very supportive, the csection went very well and im moving about like normal now which im happy about and expressing milk for my little one, she was on formula for the 1st 2days but now she is fully on breastmilk, we have named her Ishika, she is now 33wks (or 8days) she is a grt fighter and im very glad with all the decisions taken by the consultants and their service.

Im sorry for not replying but as u can see i have had quite a week, im just praying now to see my little princess at home with me.

Just logged into our board & read this fantastic news.Congratulations to both you & your hubby.I am really happy for you.
Don't worry too much about baby's weight & all.You & she both are happy & healthy thats more important.You take care of yourself & let God take care of Isika.You both have made till here & now every thing will be just fine & in some days she'll be beside you , smiling .
