At times giving the child some pocket money to buy canteen food also helps to relieve their boredom. My kid loves to eat sandwich at his school Orchids but I also make him respect home cooked food. We must instill gratitude in our children for getting tiffins prepared by their mothers everyday.

Every day is a struggle when thinking of what to pack for the lunch. It is difficult if a child is a fuzzy eater. So I ensure that I pick up what he likes to eat without wasting the food in the lunch hour. But sometimes I cannot force him to eat what he does not like. But I hope things will change soon as I ensure to give him healthy foods from fruits, cereals, food prepared from wheat and juices.

I try to give something different each day of the week so that kids eat their lunch happily and without any fuss. I always try to give healthy lunch but sometimes I throw in some junk for added fun and to make lunch look more interesting. i give the suji halwa cut into different shapes, Pasta with tomato sauce, pancakes with different fillings, dosas, idlis of different colours, mini pizzas. The list is endless. It just needs imagination and creativity to think out of box lunch ideas for your kid. Just keep in mind what your kid likes.

Packing lunch for the kids earlier seemed a very difficult task for me. I had to rack my brains thinking what to pack. I was always running out of the ideas and getting bored giving the same lunch. Now I have started experimenting with the lunch. I give them burgers, home made healthy pizzas, baked beans with bread, pasta and such food itmes. I try to make them colourful by adding herbs and condiments.

Lunch for kids can be made interesting with some cool imaginations. My kids like sandwiches but to make them more interesting, I cut them in different shapes with cookie cutters. I decorate them by making fun faces with spreads and jams. Sometimes I cut the sandwiches into bite sized pieces and give them tooth picks for eating the sandwiches. Fruit salads is also good idea for lunches. Mini tortillas with toppings are loved by all kids.
