Infertility Solutions:IVF - need some advise

Hi
I am geeta, I am 35 yrs old. I have been married for 8 yrs now, without any issue, i have underwent numerous treaments from various doctors for my infertility. Finally the cause was found to be blocked tubes, My doc has now asked me to undergo IVF, I am a little nervous. I have heard that it is an expensive treatment and I would like to know whether it is painful as well. Earlier i was a little hesitant to try this, since the chances given is only 40%. But now i have agreed to undergo this, since later on i shoudn't feel guilty for not trying. Any views, advices?

Hi how are you, I have done IVF and it is not really painful but it is very emotional and I think you need to have a very strong relationship because the hormones that you have to take are the ones that are hard, the thing that was hard for me that you have to prepare yourself for is I had 8 embryos frozen and I transfered 1 which didnt work but then I thought I would put in 2 the next time but on the day of the transfer they rang me and told me that when they thawed them out they didnt survive so I got 1 out of 8 and now if I want to do it again I have to start all over again, so I am just saying to make sure you really ask the questions before starting but I hope you have wonderful luck in anyway you go.

Geets,
I suggest, that you relax and go thru with IVF.It is very important to be relaxed thru the whole process of IVF. From what i know , it is not very painful. You may experience a little cramping like you do in periods. In case of blocked tubes, IVF is supposed to be one of the best options. I am also going for IVF in the month of July / August. I will let you know how it goes. In the meantime Best of luck to you.

Hello Geeta,

I am not a fertility expert but I don't think that IVF is the only option for blocked tubes. I think you should discuss it with some other doctor as well. IVF is stressfull process but it is worth to give a try.

All the best.

Surgery is also an option, but even after surgery the chances of clearing the tubes is only 25%. I have already undergone a surgery for removing fibroid. I am not keen on another one.
