Name: Padmaja I had my GD testing and the result was upsetting; I failed, after drinking that awful orange soda. I have a three hour screening test on 26th. Hoping that I will come out of it peacefully. Well just wanted to post my info. Mekha, jyotsna and sakhi thanks gals for your support.

I had my GD screening test on 26th butbit was not conclusive as I threw up every where after having at 100 mg sugar liquid. I am asked to go back again on Saturday. I guess I have no choice but to go again. Positive thoughts ! Hi pinky long time no C. Hope you are doing fine. Sorry, its been long time i logged on. Really sad to know your result. But GD can be easily controlled and there is no risk to you and baby. You may be asked to monitor your diet and sugar. They will suggest you diet plan and with it, if you can control ur sugar, everything will be all right. Take it in easy and do let us know further development. I am sorry to hear that you have failed after drinking glucose solution. But you know what i read in a book that 15% of pregnant women who are given a glucose screening test will have abnormal levels of blood glucose. So don't worry about it too much. You will come out of it with the screening test.

I would add one more information that about 1 to 5 percent of women whose glucose levels are tested during pregnacy are found to have gestational diabetics and women with gestational diabetics usually do not have glucose levels that are high enough to pose risks to their own health. In short, the problem is easily manageable or controlled. So everything will be alright. I have four more weeks to go to do GD.
