Hi,
I just joined this site. I had two miscarriages due to my beta hcg not doubling. Saw the heartbeat both times... for the first pregnancy the hcg got upto 1200 and the second one upto 3600..Progestrone level was 14.5, so i took the supplement it got up to 25. anybody have gone through this? what is the reason for this beta not doubling? is there any treatment for this?

Please suggest.

Thanks,
Geetha

the 8 parameter test is the layman terminology it is called a torch tighter test
it is a specialised test all labs are not equiped to perform them as the dyes used are highle sensitive ones and the ones in india are the imported ones
so if ur doc suggest this pls choose the lab correctly and carefully if u are in india

beta hcg i susually the pregnency hormone which starts geting releases afetr the embryo is implated and it ususally dbls up as the preg progresses
hcg reaches its peaks till the 9 or 10 weeks and then falls a little but thats ok....so when the embryo dev is not happening tahst when beta hcg starts falling soon after implanatation
these are some reasons why it doesnt happen..
1. when an ectopic preg has happened
2. when the uterus has rejected the embryo due to various reasons
3 . blighted ovum
i would say visit a doc soon and go for a total pathological chk up as u already had 2 miscarriges because a 3rd is not desired
ask ur doc about the 8 para meter test which rules out if u have any hidden virus inside or not ,get tested for fallopian tube tb as it doesnot have any symtoms ( and u cannot conceive whne the treatment is on),also chk if u have PCOS ( they are also symptom less or may be mild symptoms),also get a blood study done
pls donot go into TTC untill and unless u r given an ok
best of luck

RE:Coping With a Miscarriage
Infertility is a very hard thing to hit a woman. I can't imagine what it must be like. My sister went through it. She was told that she was infertile by her doctor. Her husband was a doctor too, but besides all the knowledge they could do nothing. Then they tried going for IVF. At first they were resistant, they were double minded. But then my sister went to various fertil... - Lillian [View Message]

Toughest period is when one is TTC.The worst part is the miscarriages and 3 of them makes it even more hard to cope with. I agree with your husband and would advice you to take a break also. Try to regain your health.Rushing into things wont solve them. Consult a specialist a... - katherine [View Message]

RE:Coping With a Miscarriage
Hey! I hope you are doing well. Miscarriages are a terrible thing that can happen to a family. It is like your dream of having a child and the next moment it is all gone. There are various reasons why miscarriages happen. But I do not think that miscarriages should affect the relationship. It is the responsibility of the husband to understand that no one is at fault. If th... - Irene Camron [View Message]
