Unexplained Infertility:Manipal IVF bangalore

Hi all,

I had done my first IVF (icsi) in Manipal IVF centre on last June 2007.But got a negative result. Before going there I never got any feedback regarding Manipal IVF. Thats why I thought to share my experience with the other unfortunate couple like me.I spent around 1.7 lakhs for my treatment.Once you go there you can see the long que of patients there. But I don' t think they are achiving a good result. There success rate is only 10 to 30.Even in IUI also they gaining result only after their' s 3rd or 4th cycle. They will do treatment only in batches and in my batch 8 patients were there.(3 for ICSI and 5 for IUI). None of them got pregnency.

For an ICSI treatment 18 to 20 days required.Depending upon the egg maturing. On the day first of ur cycle they will start folicle stimulating injection. This will continue for 6 days. then They will do egg retrival by giving a simple anastetia, following the third or fourth day embryo transfer will happen. Then we shall take a 14 days complete bed rest and the 15th day we got our destiny.
About the doctors and embryologist I don' t think they are efficient in there profession.
One more thing is this if you failes in ur treatment as a side effect of these hormone injections,in the next six months you will get a complicated menstrual cycle.
My request to all those patients who are preparing for a treatment in Manipal IVF think twise.

hi jyothi,

I too had a bad experience with manipal team.. north side.. it was 5 years before and they ahdnt started fertility clinic in main manipal. dr malathi rao was my dr. we were just 7 months after marriage and my periods were irregular. she didnt give any tablets to correct it.. she gave birth control tablets for 3 months to get me period.. she didnt give any medicine to have ovulation. in between my hus had vercosil operation done and soon after that she decided an IUI. she didnt discuss any procedure with us. we were having alternate day scan from 5to 13 th day and were not asked to do Intercourse . on 13th day she told, come for IUI in afternoon. 2 cycles were done just 1 month after vericosil operation. later we came to know that min 6 months has to be over to have normal sex after vericosil. this dr she knew that and tried IUI.the trgic part was male dr who did vericosil also knew that IUI was done. but didnt respond as fertility treatments were done at their center in DIACON.. and too cycles didnt give any result and she told ICSI in the next cycle. we smelled danger and thought , it is better we stop the treatment.
afetr 3 years we had taken treatment at coibatore and i was pregnant. but unlucky, i had a stillbirth on 25th week. we were consulting dr vidya desai in manipal referred by my dr from coimbatore as travel was a problem for me . dr viday told us to counsult manipal fertility team after 3 months of rest after stillbirth. when i searched more about MARs, i came to know that malthi rao, beena vasan and vasan(who did vericosil for my hus)are heading it. We are actually scared to consult them... the scary memory of the first treatment is still with me... we are in a delema to continue treatment in coibatore or find someone here in bangalore..
Havent you tried dr Kamini Rao' s hospital.. i heard it is good.

I am vehemently against Kamini Rao, the first hospital in Bangalore where I had an IUI. Its like a fish market. About 6 girls are undressing and dressing at the same time for a scan. There is a new doctor in the scan room each day so no one personally follows up on your case. Kamini Rao´ s presence durig your treatment will only be her her LARGER than size painting adorningeach and every room. Please don´ t go there. Go to Jyotsna Mirlay . Call 98454 15583

Hi,

I agree, sometimes you get frustrated. We are trying from past 10 yrs!. Yes been to many docs and did many procedures. I would rate Bina Vasan and Dr. Vasan are doing amazing job. We were pregnant in the first attempt. Dr. Bina approach is very methodological and she takes personal intrest and answered every question. I bled during 5th week. We stay in Vijayanagar. She asked to get admitted to Manipal northside and personally came and took care. Again bled during 9th week. Bina vasan was on leave. still she came to hospital and consulted us. Thats the commitment I see in her. So I strongly reccomend Manipal.

Thanks

IVF via Donor Sperm
Hi, we are planning for ivf via donor sperm as we have genetic history wherein my daughter is ASD and mine own brother is ADHD hence genetic counselor said there is risk of 15-20 percent of child being autistic if we use our own gamet. If male child is born the risk is higher than a girl child.

Hence we thought to go for donor sperm. But there is still... - SS [View Message]
