Just wanted to know.. is it ok to do household chores in early pregnancy? my MIL knows i am pregnant but still makes me do household chores.. i get really mad at her coz she does it deliberately.. my dr. has asked me to take rest and i told my MIL that but she still is bent on making me do all this work... i' m worried about my baby.. and i really HATE my MIL for doing this to us

Gosh it feels so nice to know someone out there can understand my problem. I can' t talk to my mother coz I don' t want her to worry.

To make a long story short, the other day the maid who washes clothes didn' t turn up (God knows why we have to make her wash clothes when we have a washing machine!!!) So the clothes that were soaked in the bucket were to be transferred to the washing machine and my MIL, in spite of knowing my condition asked me to do it. I ordinarily wouldn' t have done it but I don' t know why I did it then. I feel so foolish that I didn' t stand up to her and refuse. Anyway, after that incident I decided that the next time she even tries to make me do something like that I am going to give it to her and refuse.

I' ve been having irreg periods and for me to conceive has been nothing short of a miracle! I' ve been married 2 yrs 10 months and for the past 6 months she' s been telling me how I should seriously do something about getting pregnant. The day i got to know i was expecting, i was overjoyed and thought it would be good news for the family. But both my in-laws reacted so negatively to the news. So from Day 1 i have gotten a very uneasy feeling about their attitude towards me and my pregnancy. My husband is very caring towards me and supports me so I am safe in that regard. It' s just that I really needed to vent out my feelings coz she really is trying her best to depress me and make my life miserable in early pregnancy.

I hope things improve.

Tell me about yourself. What happened at work and at home?

Dear Ladies, I heard ur griefs and this sounds so mean and selfish on the part of ur in laws .... Thank god i stay alone with my hubby and infact was i staying with my mil, i am sure that she is not mean this way. She is equully glad about the new member on the way. One of my frnd here had a similar situation and she had got a bright solution to this. She openly discussed this with her Gyneac and her gyneac in turn called her husband and told him, that she is supposed to take maximum rest, no weight lifting, house chores or else it can be very risky for the baby. Infact my frnd was made to wear sarees at home by her mil, so she told gyneac to even mention that to her hubby, and the doc told him she should wear Salwar Kameez so that there is no suffocation due to petticoat knots and tight blouses. From the same day onwards her husband made sure that she gets full rest and can wear comfortable salwar kameez.
I hope this works for u .... good luck!
