Diet and Exercise:Diet concerns
2014-11-20
Name: Siya Gandhi

I exercise a lot. In the morning I go for brisk walk and walk about 8 kms. Then I do some exercises such as pilates or crunches. In the evening I do cycling and some more exercises. All this makes me immensely hungry and I eat like a hog. I just can' t control my hunger. I hope this is not an issue in future as regards to health or should I control my diet?

Due to your immense workout and exercise schedule all the energy gets used up and because of that you feel hungry again and again and i think it is normal and nothing that will cause any problem in the future.

Hi Siya,

It is not safe to do rigorous exercises during pregnancy and stress your self so much. Talk to your obstetrician so that she can tell you to do right exercises during pregnancy. Stressful exercise can prove harmful to your baby so be careful.

diet during pregnancy
Maintaining a healthy diet during pregnancy is very important.

During this time, your body needs additional nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

In fact, you may need 350–500 extra calories each day during the second and third trimesters.

A diet lacking in key nutrients may negatively affect the baby’s development.
