Due Date Club October 2006:Cervix Dilation

Hi All,
We all r in the same boat(due in Oct.)

Do any of u recentlr got cervix exam done....
If Your cervix dilation has started what did ur doc suggest?
I am 0.5 cms dilate and my doc said that it can take a few days or a few weeks to go into active labor phase. So no need to induce labor.
Please suggest/share your experience also.

Hi,

This visit on saturday i was 1 cm dilated and doc said that if noting happens in next week so she will check me again next saturday and may be she will induce. I am not sure why she said that bcoz my due date will be still 9-10 days far. I am due on Oct 2 . So I guess will check with my doc on this visit. I will be carrying my hospital bag with me incase she plans to induce.

there is actually nothing can be predicted from 0.5 or 2 cm dilated cervix. Yes, one must find that cervix dilation or at least effacement is continuing on each of your internal check up that will suggest labor is on it's way in a day or two weeks. As of now I can't say if you will deliver in days or will go beyond your due date.
