Have you ever experienced any of the symptoms associated with hyperthyroidism? What treatment would you be most comfortable with?

Isn' t Iodine defeciency connected with hypothyroidism? I believe this was one of the reasons behind the popularity of iodized salt? Does anyone know more about this?

The ban on iodised salt was completely motivated by commercial vested interests. Iodised branded salt (costing substantially more) would not have been able to compete with the courser version sold traditionally. The powerful lobby comprising the big companies that had ventured into iodised table salt got the government to impose the ban on the ludicrous assertion of preventing iodine defeciency.

While iodine deficiency may be contributing to hyperthyroidism and other medical problems, the fact is that the number of people with this defeciency was too insignificant to warrant sush a ban.

Hey, isnt this iodine issue why the govenrment found it necessary to pass an law forbidding the sale of normal salt in favour of the branded Iodised salt? But i heard reports that said medically this holds no water. Any clues on this?
