Does the average Indian family delve into baking often? Do you feel that there are no good baking recipes that suit the Indian palate?

I think we don' t have the patience to bake. When i go to a restaurant and order continental baked cuisine i find it takes more time.

Baking is fine for deserts and tea cakes etc. Baking for main dishes takes more effort and time.

I think baked main courses are awesome! It definitely a change from the Indian food. Baked main dishes seem to be more milder and easily digestible.

An aunt of mine, a good baker who used egg, often said that she was not sure eggs played any definite role in te baking process. she was of the opinion that it was just a myth that eggs helped to make a good fluffy cake.

she wasn´ t brave enough to put her theory to the test though.

Ive seen eggless recipes where vegetable oil is used as a substitute for eggs. Margarine is a good substitute for butter.

How do I defrost my old house FRIDGE?
I feel a bit silly I don't know where to begin. I've only moved in a couple months ago and it already needs to be defrosted. This little tray that slides in and out say on it: "When defrosting lift back edge of chiller and slide to rear of cabinet". What exactly is the chiller? Is it the tray itself? I'm guessing I just unplug the appliance and slide that tray back and emp... - Walter DMason [View Message]
