Kid's Photos Parents Must Never Share on Social Networks

Sharing photos and information about kids on social networking sites may not be safe. Here are some tips on photos which parents should avoid sharing on social networks.

Sharing baby photos have become a trend on social networks these days. All new parents love posting and letting the world know about how they are spending every minute with their children. But they often forget that not all those photographs are suitable for being uploaded for the world to see. Some photos are best kept private. The world is a dangerous place and is filled with harmful people. You never know what might happen if the photos fall into the wrong hands.

Here is a list of five kinds of photos that you absolutely must not let the world see.

The Potty Picture

Your little one might look cute while learning to do their potty by themselves, but that is just for your eyes. Even if you do click a picture, make sure you keep it to yourself. As children grow up they learn about self-respect and dignity. So, when they are matured enough to understand the embarrassment of being seen in the potty, it makes them feel extremely humiliated. To avoid hurting their pride, ego and dignity, keep the photograph to yourself. No one else needs to know.

Photo with Private Details

None of the baby photos that you upload on social networks should have the address to the school your kids go to, or the house where you live, or their play areas. You never know what kind of people might be there on social media. There are chances that the photograph might fall into the hands of a mentally unbalanced person who would then start stalking your child ultimately leading to a disaster. Keep your baby secure.

Photos which Cause Shame

Do not upload photos that might cause any sort of shame for your child. What might seem cute and harmless to you might actually hurt and shame your child deeply. This in turn will lead to the breaking of their trust in you. It will then become extremely difficult for you to win it back. Photos that showcase their fear or photos that reveal moments or situations that they would rather keep hidden are the photos that you should avoid uploading. You can keep them with you, but do not let others make fun of them.

Photos That Show They are Ill or Hurt

Nobody likes to be photographed in their times of illness or weakness. Just think about it from your point of view. Would you like to be clicked when you are bleeding because of a wound or vomiting because of an illness? No. Similarly, a child would also not like to be troubled during these times. Their times of illness are times that they would like to forget. These photos will attract negative comments instead of the sympathy. So it is best if these moments are kept private.

The Half Naked Photos

You should also avoid uploading photos of your baby when they are fully or semi naked. In this dangerous and unforgiving world, this is a risk you should absolutely not take. So it is best to keep your baby’s bath time or dress changing photos off social networks. This will prevent them from getting embarrassed when they grow-up.

Nobody is stopping you from uploading baby photos. It is natural that you will want to share the happiness of having given birth to your little angel. You can always share photos of the happy and important moments in their lives. But do not do it at the cost of their safety. Share your joy, but do it carefully. Do not sacrifice your child’s safety. Keep them happy and protected.

What kind of photos should parents avoid sharing on social networks? What are the risks associated with sharing kid’s photos on social networks? Should kids be allowed to access social networking sites? Discuss here.
