1. Talking Disrespectfully

Children absorb everything from their immediate environment especially from their parents. If you talk disrespectfully in front of your children they will imbibe similar behaviour. They may start talking the same way which is the signs of bad manners.

2. Fighting with Spouse

Fighting in front of children is one of the things that parents must avoid at all costs. It can affect children psychologically. Watching parents fight regularly can disturb children and they may not be able to study or do other activities cheerfully.

3. Comparing Children

Comparing children with their siblings and friends should be avoided by their parents. Parents should never try to put children down and portray them as they are inferior to their siblings or friends. Such behaviour can lower the self-esteem and confidence of children.

4. Criticizing Others

Parents should never pass judgment on family members, friends or relatives in front of children. Continuously criticizing others can develop a negative image about them in mind of children. Children may also get into this habit of criticizing others due to which they may not be able to maintain healthy relationships.

5. Turning a Deaf Ear

Never turn a deaf ear when children are trying to tell something. It is a must for parents to listen earnestly to what children are saying. Let them complete what they want to say. Always have a healthy discussion with them.

6. Using Swear Words

Parents should never use swear words in front of children no matter what their age is. If such words are said in front of toddlers and preschoolers, they are definitely going to repeat them. Parents should never forget that they are setting a bad example by behaving in this manner.

7. Yelling

Yelling at others in front of children can create a very bad impression on them. Children may feel that it is okay to yell and scream at others. As mentioned earlier they may start depicting such behaviour when they are at home or even when they are with their friends.

8. Saying Negative Things

Always saying negative things to children can create a negative impact on their growth and development. They may develop negative thinking. Children must always be taught to think positive and they must be encouraged to develop a positive attitude.

9. Being Disrespectful

Being disrespectful to children can hamper their self-esteem and confidence. Children must always be treated with respect. If parents behave in a disrespectful manner, children may not find it easy to behave in a respectful manner.

10. Excessive Praising

Too much of everything is very bad and so is excessive praising. Praising children excessively can develop superior complex in them. Parents must always praise children genuinely whenever it is required.
