Q: I'm 18 weeks pregnant. I just had an ultrasound today, the date of the ovulation that the machine calculated is a little off with what I actually have. My question is: Can ultrasound calculation (age of the baby) be wrong? Linda (San Jose, USA) |
A: The ultrasound calculates the date as per the size of the baby. There is always a standard deviation of +/- 2 weeks as compared to the gestational age - so a week's deviation is quite normal. |
