Due Date Club July 2008:Breech baby
2008-06-16
Name: Priya

Hi

My due date is 27th July. A u/s on 7th June showed the baby in breech position still and the corrected due date as 5th July!
Is there any one else with the same due date(27th July) whose baby has not turned yet? Does this cause problems? I am really worried-please lt meknow.

Priya

Dear Priya & Raaz,
I think you shall speak to your Gynae, she should offer you the chance to have your baby turned manually into a head down position. This process is called external cephalic version (ECV). If performed after 38 weeks, it' s successful in about two thirds of cases. Sometimes, however, the baby refuses to budge or rotates back into a breech position. If so then yes you will have to go for c- sec.

All the best
luv Kriti
