Due Date Club July 2008:increased bowel movement
2008-04-29
Name: Nina

Hi Girls..

I am in my 29th week. I have been facing this strange thing from past 2-3 weeks. Its increased bowel movement. I need to goto loo 2-3 times , allmost everyday. Its not constipation ,nor is it loose motion.
Initially, I just used to goto loo in the morning. Its kind of wierd and dont know, if I should ask the doctor or is it normal.
Anybody feeling the same ???

Take Care ya all.
Nina

hi nina and lalitha

i mentioned it coz in a loose bowel motion there is chance of the stool being green.. which could be the baby' s stool called meconium.. when meconium is passed it could mean that there is a possibility of the baby swallowing it.. thereby putting both the mother and baby at risk.. so if there is passage of loose stool and it being green, first just remember what u ate and if you haven' t eaten any fibrous foods and think u need to inform the doc then do so..don' t wait..

just to be on the safe side..

Hi

I have completed 28 weeks, and have been having the same problem of oncreased bowel movement - sincethe 26th week...
I go normal quantities about 2-3 times aday, and usually a little after a meal. I asked the doc about it. She also askedme to take her through my daily diet... she said as long as I am not overeating, and or not eating too much outside food, this condiition (which is called intenstinal hurry, sometimes present in pregnancy) is okay.
If it becomes loose motion, one remedy is to have about 1/2 to 1 tsp of methi seeds along with buttermilk everyday.

i also askedher about the green colour because soemtime mine is green, she said there is nothing to worry.... Riya, I was wondering why did u mention it? anything specificto look out for?

hi nina

its nothing to be worried about..as long as the colour of the stool is not green you have nothing major to be concerned about.. even i have had this experience at times.. its just that you must be eating really well..as in good fibre intake plus must be exercising well and thats why your metabolism is working efficiently.. be thankful coz at this stage many women experience constipation bcoz of added weight of the uterus on the digestive system..

if you still are worried then you should speak to your doctor
