Just saw your message on tips to follow for GD. Thanks for the tips.

How are you doing? Are you on insulin? How many units and how many times in a day do you take?

I am able to control it with diet and exercise, but I heard that the harmones rise during the 33-34 week.
I really don' t want to take insulin, but if needed I will go for it..after all what matters is to have a healthy baby...More 2 months to go without chocolates and ice cream:)

Hi Aaradhna,

Sorry i havent been online for a few weeks...
I take insulin at breakfast, lunch and dinner as my levels are quite high... 4, 8 and 16 respectively...
Insulin is just another hormone that our body needs... and there is no harm or side effects in taking it - the most important part is to keep the levels at the recommended thresholds...
My levels are under control now and my doctors are happy with them... as the pregnancy progresses, it becomes harder to produce enough insulin naturally and hence ladies with gestational diabetes may need to take it after 33 weeks of gestation...
