He was a gem. after him who knows who will take up the opportunity of playing the shehenai. It is a loss to the world of music. I am a great fan of his. I also like sufi music. Abeda parveen too is my favourite. When i look at Indian Claasical music i feel it is so very different fromt eh rest of the world. Indian classical music is like a sacred prayer for those who play practice and listen to it. Be it the sitar, veena, tabla, shehenai or flute. The synegised effect of all of these is simply wonderful. As a child i always wanted to learn to play the sitar, but never got an opportunity. Now i think i dnt care, whether i make a career out of it or not but i want to learn to play the sitar just fo the love of it. It is amazing. I love india and i love its music and of course its beautiful people. hema replied. I have been learning bharatnatyam since the last 4 years and must say i love every bit of it. But more than that the beat of the tabla make me crazy. I cannot stop myself once i hear the beats. The ghungroo and the tabla are a wonderful combination.every time my dance teacher beats the tabla i can just sway to the rhythm words do not matter. its like my heart beat. Oh i simply love tabla. Its a beautiful sound.noawadays i even watch some tv programmes on classical music. I can undestand them and even create my own steps. Its really nice to know and discover that India has such a rich cultural heritage of music and dance. And we must keep it alive. surya replied. In the age of rap and rock i love indian classical music. I love the instrumental music. Specially sitar, tabla and veena. They are simply beautiful. I love to watch stad zakir husain live. Every beat of the tabla is simply wonderful. I also have some CD and must say this was a very informative piece of information on classical music. great
