Hi All,
My doctor said i have a gestational diabetes.I am 13 weeks pregnant,second time mom.I am very tensed about the GD,Because i am having very little meals,and having high blood sugar readings.Next week I have a doctors appointment.
I am worried about what she is going to tell.
Please give any suggestions,tips,indian veg recipes to lower the blood sugar levels.
All mommies take good care of urself.

Hi Aarati,
I' m from Jan2009 board and I' m a second time mom.
I gues your doctor would advise you to follow a diet based on a diet plan. From Indian food stand point avoid the following
1) Frozen food
2) Rice, sugar, jaggery and any food that is high in sugar. Have whole wheat chapatis.
3) Include Ragi in your diet. I can get you recipe for few dishes made od ragi flour.
4) MOnitor your blood sugar level daily and you will get to know what food increases sugar level.
Good thing about GB is you dont have to worry about it after you deliver the baby.

can ragi flour helps to reduce the blood sugar?can i add ragi flour with wheat flour for chapati?do u have any idea about how much carbs present in ragi flour?
Please give me ragi flour recipes.

i very new to this site...(sry for the late reply)....although im not mom ,my mom use to fed us very frequently....
raggi should be fried on a pan with light
flame...it should not be roasted like...
(be carefull it splits when frying)then grind it,remove all skin etc...
