Name: Breeze Has anyone been prescribed Duvadilan?
I was on susten 300 for about a month my doc has asked me to stop it as I have completed my 20h week & has asked me to take Duvadilin 3 times a day after meals.
But I have read an article on Doctor NDTV which id like to share with u' ll.

NDTVDoctor - Duvadilan Retard is the brand name of a medicine called isoxsuprine. It is a smooth muscle relaxant (arteries, muscles of uterus etc.) and was used to prevent premature labour. It is given towards the end of pregnancy if premature delivery is likely. Due to the entry of safer and more effective medicines, its use is no more in vogue in US, UK, Australia, etc. It has no proven role in early pregnancy.

I have been told by the doc it is not harmful for me or d baby but then the consumption of the same has been stopped in varios contries n besides it says its taken towards the end of pregnancy.

Can someone plz chk with der doc the use of this mdcn, I m a lil skeptical.

I am from May board due on 23rd may. Yes my doctors has advise me to take duvadilan twice a day and 4 times a day if i feel tightning in my abdomen. As per doc my cervix opening is small and if there is any tightneeing of abdomen it may lead to premature delivery.

She told me there is no harm in taking this tablet.

The thing is i´ ve heard its usually given towards d later stage of pregnancy n in my case i m jus in my 22nd week.....

Duvadilan

I have been asked by some other gynac to take Duvadilan in 15-16 week of my pergnancy as I used to hav pain. Later when I contacted my doc., she asked to discontinue it as it wont do any gud to me.
Hope this helps u... i need to talk to my doc again.
