It seems just yesterday that I was pregnant. My sweet little munchkin is now a toddler. I have a treasure full of memories associated with the little one. Every day spend with the little one passes in a jiffy. The first time he looked at me and smiled. That day and hour he said “mumma” is registered in my heart forever. His big rolling eyes whenever something irritated him. The first time he left my finger and ran. His first birthday celebration still makes me so emotional. So, now as am typing these memories, at the back of my mind, I am preparing for the first day of my sons’ preschool.


Can’t believe he is all grown up. I mean just imagine he will be away from me for 3 hours (God! I will miss him!). And as per my mother, she is sure that when I am going to leave Soham to school, I will be sobbing all the way. Believe it, I want to. But I won’t. I don’t want to make him weak. As for the school, I have been there with my little one twice or thrice. The teachers are nice. The ambience is safe. And I know that I have not made any mistake in picking the apt school for the apple of my eye.

If you too are in look out for a preschool for your child, here are some filters you should take care of:-

1. 1. Elementary education- The preschool will necessarily be the foundation stone of the education of your child. Hence, do not just select any preschool in order to keep him engaged for some hours. The school need not be too far, as well. Make sure that the school you are planning for your child, has enough base for teaching them ABCs and 1, 2, 3.
   
   
2. 2. Learn by fun- Since, these are little children, ensure that the school has methodologies fabricated to make them learn in a fun way. If a school promises to make your child a genius, you know where the door is. Too much stress in this tender age will be harmful for your kid. Hence, it is imperative to talk to the teachers and principal with regards to their methodology.
   
   
3. 3. Co curricular activities- so, there was this school, I went, which had no framework for co curricular activities. At the present time, it is really important that a plethora of activities fabricated for your child. The splash parties, the celebration of festivals, some mud time, sports, playing with color, is bound to provide new aspects to their learning horizons. There should be much number of activities for the kid to decide on.
   
   
4. 4. Value aided education- It is these tender years which help in making your child a good human. Hence, always look for school, which emphasize on the value and moral teaching. It is here that they will be able to learn to deal with the emotional, social, psychological issues. In order to gain an understanding with regards to this, it will be better to ascertain by consulting other parents.
   
   
5. 5. Manners- It is important that the school you are sending your child to, emphasizes on good manners. These are the little things which, when not taken care of become bad habits. Hence, make sure that the teachers and staff maintain and propagate the same.

With the above filters you will surely be able to come to a good decision. It will be beneficial for you. As of now, I have to go, purchase my kid his new bag, water bottle and Tiffin (Feeling blessed!). Happy parenting!
