Wanted to know if it is ok to use a tummy binder in case of a C section and if yes, whether it can be used immediately or shd wait do a week or so to pass to start using one??

Regarding tummy binder

Hi ash,

Can u please tell me use of tummy binder and how do we get it. I may be sounding foolish but it is better to ask if i don't know rather than ignoring that.

hi shalini,

well a tummy binder is used to help our stomach get back into shape as after delivery it will be sagging etc. The binder will help it regain shape.

In india a saree/ dupatta is used to and nicely folded so that it is a long peice of cloth and this is wrapped tightly around the stomach. It is supposed to be worn during the entire day for 30-40 days.

You can the shops where you will get the other maternity stuff to find if a tummy binder is available

Hi!
Well my friend had a C-section on Sep 7th. She told me that she started using the tummy binder end of Sep onwards. So may be like 3 weeks and after that you can use. BUT I think it also depends on how your surgery has healed. If everything is fine then may 3 weeks is good.
