Name: Ragini Hi folks,

I have a question regarding the health insurance plans for visitors from India to US. I figured I'd ask here as many of us will be having somebody visiting us from India during delivery.

1 - Did anybody buy insurance plans from US?
2 - Did you have to use it and how was the response from the company for any claim filed?
3 - Could you please post the names of the companies that offer visitors insurance plans?

This was my experience last year. I bought health insurance plan from www(.)indnet(.)org. I filed a claim in Dec'03 and I haven't heard from the insurance company till today. The least I'd expect is some form of a reply, whether they would pay the claim or deny. Therefore I am a little apprehensive enrolling in their plans again.

Any thoughts and experiences will be appreciated.

Hi ragini,

I will soon let u know abt comapny names, Infact my in-laws came last year and they bought it from India as that way it covers trvelling also and now my parents are coming and we have bought for them form india only,
regarding names I will let u know.

my friend came to US 2 years before,she had insurance from India she took insurance from Oriental Insurance and other name I will let u know,
