sorry girls, I couldn't reply to your posts as I was very busy with work since few days. But, I am making sure to login to the board once everybody to read your messages.
I am now 28W2D. I had my 1hr GTT test done 6 days back, but since my Gyn is out of station, I couldn't know the results yet. Probably, I'll know them by monday. My little one and me are doing fine.

Hopingfortejas: Even I am planning to do research on breast pump, as I am planning to work just 4 weeks after delivery. I see from the replies you got...Medela is the winner as you said. Please do let me know if you decide one.

I have a couple of questions, hope you girls can clarify me:

1) Will the belly growth be significant in third trimester ? As of now, I just have medium size tummy...though everybody is able to make out that I am pregnant..but I am not measuring very big.

2)Did you all selected your pediatrician? When should we decide one and be ready?

3)Can the doctor tell us approximately how much the baby may weigh even without doing ultrasound?

My doctor doesn't communicate much. She don't tell me anything during my regular visits..i mean about the progress, tips, suggestion etc. I have to ask her everything repeatedly:(

About breast pump Madela is really good.
and about your tummy mummy you are fine some show too much some don't but still the baby weight right I would'nt worry when every thing is fine.
2. Yes you should choose pediatician by now and in fact visit him/her before to let them know and you will know how is he/she is they do invite a visit.They visit the baby right after birth to check.Hospital will also ask you at the time of labour some they take it at the time a registration.
3.about baby weight they will tell you how much baby should weight by the week but its not always the case you go according to the chart but when they measure you they see if you are as per their expectation or not.
you have a right to ask as many question as you like for you its your first/second but for them its everyday so sometime doctor don't talk too much .My physician he loves to tell so much and make you feel so good before i wasn't happy with the doc. so i left and went to him finding the whole group interesting how they listen and tell you and inform you with food ,health etc.

Thank you all for your replies. Ya, even I am with the view that the belly size grows signficantly in third trimester as the baby puts on weight.

Manu, I checked your GTT results and felt happy for you that they are normal. Ya, even I pray to have normal results, as I will definitely feel difficult to maintain a diet plan in this busy schedule. ( I am usually a kind of girl who always used to be easy on diet.)

Leo, will definitely follow your advice and communicate with the doctor. Preparing questions ahead is a good idea.

Hopinfortejas- Yes....busy with school and work :) Thanks for discussing your views on breast pump and to share your final decision on it. Yes, I think I too should start selecting and decide on pediatrician from now on.

My doctor said earlier that she won't do second ultrasound unless necessary. So, I don't know if we can know the baby's weight ahead. Will see what will happen.

good to hrear from you ..so how is ur school going on?? i am sure it must be pretty challenging for you ... i found it quite difficult in the summer itself to attend school ..!!

i will let u know if i get more inof abt breast pumps .... i am planning to ask some of my coleagues here also abt it ....

abt belly growth , i am not sure , i get varied opinions abt it ...some people say i am too big, others say i am too small ... my ob measures it every visit and she seems to be fine wiht it , so i am not worrying too much , however since the ay puts weight in the alst trimester, i would think there would be more rapid growth then in our bellies also ??

abt pediatrician, yep, i have shortlisted and have visits with them next week just to get a feel of how they talk, explain , etc..i hope to have finalized on one by end of next week ... i think it is better if you do it before 32-34 weeks just bcoz you will become pretty tired after that and it is better to finish this off before then ....

i am not sure abt your third Q ... i do not think that si possible ...i think all they make sure is that the growth is normal ....and if your belly is too big/small, they would investigate into that ...

yes, just keep bugging your doctor and maybe write down your Qs so that u are sure that all ur QS are answered ...

take care adn keep posting when u get achance .... Leo replied. It was nice to see ur post after a long time. It is really good that u r busy with work - it will keep u engaged and time will just fly by.

Good to note that u and the baby r doing fine. Even my belly is not so huge but I think it will start becoming big from now on - growth spurt in the last 3 months as it is the time of rapid fetal growth. Selecting ped is important. Take suggestions from friends or ur doc and see to it that ur ped is close by to the place where u live. Let me see what others are doing with regard to ped as well. I am not sure abt ur third question will wait for others to answer.

Even though ur doc is not so communicative compensate for that by becoming more communicative urself. Make a list of all questions u should ask her so that when u meet her u can get the answers.

well hope u r read my update as my GST results r fine...no probs..hope ur result ll also show the same...well abpout ur questions...1. my belly is also not too big, i think it ll look big in 8th month....about ur 2nd q. hv u read Leo's msg she gave some links for pediatrician...so u can select from that and i think it ll b sufficient if u look for this in 9th month...and about ur 3rd q. i really dnt have any idea... i was also thinking to ask this q to all... let see what other replies...take care
