Due Date Club December 2006:Ultrasound ???

Hi Gals,

I m a silent reader to this board. I m also due in dec. Today i just wanted to share some info with u guys regarding the two ultrasounds which i had. I had my 1st ultrasound when i was 19weeks 2 days, and was told i am having a girl. I started looking for things which were pink. Made a list of all the things for the baby like the crib, stroller, crib set etc.... My DH painted the nursery pink when i was out of town so that the paint smell won't distrub me.
My doc. did another ultrasound on saturday when i was 27 weeks 5 days, and told me i m having a boy now. she said she is 100% sure its a boy, well she was 100% sure at the 1st ultrasound also. My doc. wanted to confirm that it was a boy so she called another doc. to do the ultrasound and was told again its a boy.
In the 1st ultrasound we were showed the labia (the 3 lines)which is for the girl. And now we were showed a penis. After the ultrasound we r pretty sure that its a boy coz we confirmed it by spending $300 on doing a ultrasound at another place.
I know lot of u gals must be buying stuff for the baby. I would say keep the receipt of everything in case u need it. Rt now i m very confused with the blue n pink shopping and with the nursery, so just going to buy lemon color things.

Thanks gals for listening. Take care of urself and ur lil ones.

Trust doctors to be as silly as that....
With me , I dunno if its a boy or a girl....in india u cant find that out legally. So I am buying all possible colours...end of the day, children look good in all colours..

Wow this is amazing to hear. Now i have to wonder what I am having. They said its a boy 100%.I could see his penis too in the pictures.
Haven't yet started shopping for blue...but this sure is something to think about.
Thanks RD for sharing your story. I have heared lots of babies when concluded as girls end up being boys too...but once you see the penis there is no confusion to that!

I had heart some cases where they were told to have a boy in 5th month and then a girl in 7th month, which they delivered a girl at full term. Normally sex determination is imperfect in the beginning and about 90% correct around 19 weeks. Now it's about little over 95% accurate. You likely to have a boy and not girl. I am sorry that you both rushed in shopping so fast and have to rethink on the same, especially painting is sort of agonizing.
