Due Date Club October 2006:Hi all...

Looks like the October board has really become very silent. Ppl are anxious monitoring other board members i guess...
For October mommies, there is still some time left for the D-day & hence not much hungama yet.

As for me, I have my baby-shower on 4th and 6th of September. So maybe looking forward for that.
Otherwise, I feel very bulky these days with lot of tightness around my tummy.

Anybody doing Keegel Excercises? Do they help?
I still have to get my GTT done. I have planned for my leave on 20th September. Guess it is too early as my doc says I will complete full term. My EDD is 10th October.

I know there are few of them around that date. Any updates from them???--Babyonmind, Suma, etc...

Do continue this post otherwise its getting boring ;)

Hi all,

How are you all doing? yes, the board has become very silent now a days... I guess its only for a couple of more days as our due dates are approching fast... Each time i think abt it, i can feel butterflies in my tummy :-)

I had my babyshower y'day. had a very good time with all my relatives and friends :-)

I am not doing any particular exercises. I feel so lazy to do them. But I am trying to walk as much as possible, in addition to the normal household work...

I had my checkup in the begining of this week. everything seems to be fine. The baby is in head down position, so thats a good news :-) and its weight is arnd 2.2 kgs. This time during the scan, the baby was waving at us :-) Rest all seems fine. Also my due date has moved two days ahead. Its now on the 8th of Oct. Most of my relatives are telling me that I might deliver even before that... So a little scared of that!!! Hope I complete atleast 38 weeks.

I am planning to take off from 2nd week of sept. Have already started feeling very tired these days. and not able to sit for long hours. getting sever back pain.

so thats an update from my side.

Take care
Suma

Hello,

My due date is Oct 3rd...went for my checkup this morning..everything seems to be normal..baby is moving around a lot these days...

I've been doing Kegels (whenever I remember to do them that is..;) ) for the past 2 months now...In my child prep /labor prep classes they said that kegels help in making yr pelvic muscles stronger and after the labor, these muscles recover much faster...specially if you need to get any sticthes done there...also during labor, you'll be able to do the pushing much better coz you'll have more control over the pelvic muscles...

I also practice a bit on a gym ball every other day(it apparently helps in positioning the baby just right)...

I'll be taking off maybe a week before the due date..if it gets too uncomfortable, then am planning to work from home...

Prajakta: maybe you can try a labor prep class to overcome yr fears..they helped me a lot - just knowing what to expect was a confidence booster...:)

Are you guys going in for epidurals?

take care...

hi oceanbaby,

yeah, the board is getting too silent!!! great idea to start this post.

i am due on Oct 9th.. i am planning to work till the doc permits me too. so that i can have more time later with the baby.

the only problem is the commute - my workplace is about 15-18 kms from my home. and the roads are so bad here plus the ganapati mandals occupying most of the usable road portion - it takes my 60-80 minutes to reach home.

nowadays, some days i am very fresh and energetic and some days feel very tired. the baby seems to be kicking away the last few weeks!!!

sometimes, i get all worked up thinking about labour and childbirth process. anyone else with this jitters?

Yes the only reason I want to take an early leave is I wud get some time for myself, can go on long walks, can relax, avoid travel to office etc.
I myself don't give much thought to Labour and childbirth process. Leave it to nature & it will automatically take care. Remember its a very natural thing. the more you think, the more u get worried.
