Go to a barber's shop and tell him to cut your head and shave it with a hand clipper and then after that you can get your tonsure or else you can wait for a lil while for your hair to grow and then tonsure them.

You can chop your hair short using a simple scissor and then you can use a hand clipper to do the further cutting. If you are not able to cut the hair from the backside you can ask your husband to help you.

Do what you think will be appropriate and if you don't know how to use a hand clipper then ask your husband or go to a barber's shop and ask him to help. You can go to a parlor for this too. Whatever you do be careful.

Hi Preeti,
So you can go for tonsure and then later another one so that it would be better on your part. And you need to share this with your husband and in laws and they would suggest you with the best solution for you.

why shaving armpits as a vow? you can still do it without taking vow. and balding your head is quite a different thing. please shave your head first and after that try hand clippers for your hair after 2 to 3 months.

Preeti
Shaving arm pit hair is never a part of a vow. You can do it privately and not as part of vow. Shaving of head as vow is to be done direct with razor and not in stages. Head shave vow and hand clipper balding are contradictory.
If you want to enjoy hand clipper balding, I suggest that you first shave your armpit in your privacy by your husband, then sit in front of barber and get shaved straight with razor, grow the hair for about 3 months and then again get the head shaved by hand clippers. That way you can enjoy all that you want.

At least now I hope you agree with the advice of your Pandit. So go ahead and shave your head and armpits in the barbershop now first with clippers and then with razor. And again at Tirupati in Sep/Oct in the cottage.

Probably the only way I can see out of your predicament is this.
Request a barber to come to your house with hand clippers and razor. Sit cross legged on the floor in the presence of your husband. Ask the barber to remove your armpit hair and head hair with clippers and collect them in a plastic cover. Then ask him to wet the armpits and your head and shave them with razor. Two months later, visit a temple like Tirupati or Palani and offer the long hair collected in the plastic bag and go for one more head shave in the holy place. I think this would complete your vow to your satisfaction. If you want a better solution to your predicament, approach a pandit.

Hello everyone,
I have medium volume hair but my hair type is very thin and silky. Due to which my hair doesn't hold curls for long hours. I have heard that texturizing spray helps to solve the above problem. Could someone please suggest the good texturizing spray for thin hair?... - Amulya Peru [View Message]
