I am 27 weeks pregnant ...I did' had any symptom of a UTI but during my routine tests my Doc suggested me to get a urine culture done, and I got to know that I am suffering from E-Coli Bacterial infection last month I had taken 8 hourly antibiotic injections however when I got my tests repeated recently the infection still persists. Now my doc has suggested me to have Citralka 3 times a day for 15 days. Please suggest if this is safe during pregnancy.

Hi Sheetal,

I'm into my 16th week. Got muy urine test reullts some time back. It revealed pus cells (3-4), whih the do said was normal. Also had bacteria in the urine sample. The doc adviced urine culture. Since i don't have any symptoms, I haven't taken the test yet.

Should I take the test?

What was the exact test results, If you could share?

Thanx!

Even I was diagnosed with UTI about 2 weeks back but it was a minor one. I have been on Citralka and Urisapas tablet as the doc didnt want to put on anti biotics as I have an acidity problem. The medicines have helped. Just realx and take what the doc says. From what I have read UTI is fairly common in preg and if treated on the right time it can be harmless. Just drink a lot of fulids - water/light tea/lassi etc. All the best.
