I am a second time mom expecting a baby in April (22nd). I have a daughter who turned 2 in September. I am happy to be a part of this board since i joined this board only when my daughter was already 7 months old. but this time i wish to share my excitements n fears with all u expecting moms.

i have a small query...this friday is my appt with my obgyn...she told me abt the prenatal screening test which is optional. for my first preg i was in india till i was 5 months preg than i came to the US. now my doc says that either i can opt to do this test or notknow if any of you have done this test before or are going to tk the test now. pls help me out...have to decide in 2 days. my last visit was during my 7.5 wks...at that time the doc said its too early to chk for the heartbeat so she is going to do that this time...hope everything is fine.

I am a second time too, EDD apr 26th. I too have a daughter and she is 3 1/2.
Well abt the prenatal screening i have opted to do it. Mine is on the 12th of OCt. I beleive there is a couple or more of blood tests along with an ultrasound. My first delivery was also in the US but i din get to do the combined prenatal screen test at 12 wks(though i got tested for down syndrome, HIV etc later on).
BTW which part of the US are u in. I am in Seattle, WA Dhanya replied. Did she tell you what she will be doing during the prenatal tests?
