I am 12 weeks pregnant. In last sonography Doc has told me that fetus has Cystic Hygroma in neck and head. And suggested me for termination of pregnancy. I have been married for 5 years, and trying for the baby ever since. After 2 unsuccessful IUI and 2 IVF - 3 months back I conceived naturally. Anyone has got some clue/suggestions??? Urgent advice and help is needed. Thanks

Sorry for the news . But do not panick . In my pregancy my baby was diagonosed with cystic hygroma and termination of the pregnancy was advised .It was not an option for me at all. But I waited and eventually the USG did not show any hygroma later on. I was diagonased in 9th week of my pregnancy .I waited to do a CVs - chorionic villus sampling and amnioceintesis in the 15th week . But by God's grace I did not have to do that as the USG and first trimester genetic testing showed me normal results .I do not know if the doctor advised you to do any further testing or these tests had already been performed . Sometimes babies take a little more time to develop . I do not know you case history but you can always wait and see till the 15th /20th week . If your baby have a chance of Cystic hygroma . All you can do is to visit a good maternal - fetal specialist in your area and I am sure they will let you know about your Options. Do a lot of praying to God and meditation -it helps . Always believe whatever is good for you will Happen. May god be with you and your baby always .
I do not know what will happen with me until I deliver but I have learnt to surrender my worries .I would advise you to do the same .Please keep me posted . Best of Luck

Seems your and mine case is similar. With couple of more opinions, we finally decided to terminate the pregnancy. As we never wanted to take the risk of an abnormal child. Just before finalizing with the operation date and procedure etc, on doctor's advise I went for Fetal Chromosome Analysis, and further karyotype of both of us. All reports were almost normal. Then we went for US, the doctor kept searching for the symptoms of cystic hygroma, and miraculously he could not find it. Finally he left with 2 sentences, I didn't see such case in my whole practice and miracle happens.

Well still we are not able to enjoy my pregnancy as there is always an uncertainty. But still we are blissful. And hope for the best.
