Hi,

Hey does any of u have any idea how can we get the idea that our cervix is changing. Actually I think that some of u know abt my uterus shape, my doc said earlier that I can have incompetent cervix but touch wood till now everything is going fine, she said that I am more prone to preterm or breech baby, I just wanted to know that what shld I do.Shld I take more bed rest to avoid any complication or any possibility of preterm.Is there any way by which I can keep cervix closed till 37 weeks.

And I meet my doc after 2 weeks, and I think 2 weeks is plenty of time for cervix to change so how I know that everything is fine.this is the question which is literally haunting me.

I have one more question that by date my 8th month starts 2morrow but I wanted to know does 8th months starts after 32 weeks or 31 weeks.
Thank God my mom is coming on 13th I will be tension free after her arrival.

Looks you are leading healthy pregnancy and nothing should go wrong. However, a word of caution, stress has a strong role to play to cause adverse than anyother conditions. So be tension fress.

Incompetent cervix usually is a culprit of miscarriages and you are already completed 30 weeks so don't worry on incompetent cervix and threats to your baby. If you are living in USA then once crossed 28 weeks there is 100% chance that your baby will be sound and healthy even though born preterm. I have friend of friend delivered both her daughters in her 26th weeks and they are happily living here.

To avoid preterm, you can do a lot by keeping out of stress and work, go on easy and simple duties like walk. YOu should rest as much as you can.

Iam jyoti & this is the first time i have come on this msg board on the strong recomendation of a few of my friends who have had excellent experiences sharing their worries & thoughts with other moms-to-be. It already feels great to be a part of it. Iam expecting in september end.
To start with i would like to tell Neetu, something abt her worry.
Neetu, don't worry I had a short cervix which was detected in the early months by my doc & he had done a OS tightening which is supposed to be stich which will keep the cervix closed till the end. If ur doc has not advised u something like this then there's absolutely nothing to worry abt as ur doc knows what's best for u. If you are really worried abt preterm labour & If you are working then it's better to take things easy after the 34th week, i mean work less hours and I fully agree with Leena that you should take rest as much as u can, relax & enjoy the next few weeks without thinking abt preterm labour. you sound pretty tense and worried. Dont get stressed out at this point.Stress is not a good friend during pregnancy. Do all u can to avoid preterm labor including increased rest and plenty of fluids.
Everything has gone well so far and things will be fine in the upcoming weeks as well.
As for the 8th month, I am not too sure but I think it begins at the end of 31 weeks.
Enjoy the next few weeks and just give your doc a call to discuss what you are feeling.
