Crying & Colic:Should I give Cerelac or home made stuff

Name: Aarya My baby is 3.5 months old.I heard we need to start solids by the 4th month.So I would just like to know whether I should give her nestle's cerelac or some homemade food.I'm a working mother.Presently I'm feeding her lactogen.Please let me know.

hi ! me too being a working mother had the same probem before me. I started giving my son along with lactogen, boiled mashed banana/fruits and also \";raggi\"; after 5 months.U can opt for tinned food in case of emergency, since always home made food is the best for the baby.

as per recommended by doctor first u start cereal (started cereal) than u give home made like dal water

home made is best

It is better to start only after 4 months or may be six months as wendy says or even 8 months as said by the doctor here in switzerland. But start with home made food, like rice, dals boiled thoroughly, boil an apple, potato and mash it or mash a banana. Cerelac can be used only when there is no choice.

Hi here in the US doctors recommend feeding only after 6 months.I started feeding my baby ceral at 5 months. I use the store bought stuff as it is especially for babies & I think it is good untir your babies delicate tummy can adjust to out side food then when she is 8 or 9 months i will start her on home made foods...
