Hair Care:Brother´ s Upanayanam

Hi we are form a orthodox Brahman family. My father has decided to do my brother' s Upanayanam very soon(15 years old).He is planning to do it traditionally.I have read that it involves shaving and piercing a hole in the boy' s ear.Is it like that?I will be very interested if it is in such a way.....:P(because he used pull my rings while fighting...:LOL!!!! NOW I CAN RETURN IT!!!:P just joking) My mother and I asked him to come in female dress many times. But he hates it.He is my twin brother(he is elder). He never loves to wear such the female dress? He is even afraid of needles, so he even doesn' t go to hospitals hehe for medicines...:D. But when it is done in the traditional manner shouldn' t we make holes in the ear?Is the nose piercing necessary?? Will the piercing hurt him a lot? I don' t remember mine. All i know is that nose piercing is of terrible pain.It was unfordable for me. What all ornaments should he wear? Is it necessary that he should lengthen his hair?He is not having any facial hairs. But he already have hair up to the shoulder.Because my father did not allow him to cut since last 1 year.Is it necessary that he should wear girls dress? I asked my father secretly because now he is having vacation. At least at home.He said OK...:D.My mother also loves it.How can i make him agree to pierce his ear' s before the ceremony.????
I don' t know which type of ear ring will be good for him?? I don' t think he will put on the larger jimmikka and the rest.I am sure he will throw away those things.I have many sets of heavy rings.I would like him to put those stuffs. But how??How to make him put on my dress?. This is the best time that i can play around him..:P
So i have a few doubts: how long should he wear the rings. For how much time should he keep the bald hair??Is there any role for me, being the younger one? Is it necessary to get a hole in the nose also??Will it hurt him much??How long will he have the pain??

What is wrong with people now a days. I guess you should think what you want .. Piercing is just about how much pain one can bear . even in olden days people used to pierce. Try it if you want

All the best

i dont know why these boys are like this???No one wants to make a hole in their own ear?But wont you do it to a girl??? In the olden days a 50 years back every one will have pierced ear???Then why should we force to do it??For my brother also we had to really force him physically do it.It just deals with the pain bearing capacity...it just tests it.....But when we do it every women will have an idea to see the child as girl. That is it..nothing other than that...

@kaushik,suddep
you boys do not understand what we are trying to do.ofcourse in upanayanam only the headshave of the boy and his ear piercing is enough, but we girls would like to have some naughty fun, hence we nose pierce the boy, make him wear girls clothes etc.only if you are a girl you can understand this, you boys look cute and cuddly if you are feminised

You are not right .... because I also Pierced my both ear during upnayanam but as per I Know no nose piercing needed for it. Earring needed only for healing the hole on the ear. this is a traditional program not male to female transformation program. I personally hate ear piercing but my mother insist to do ear piercing. I only wear gold hoop earring once in a month for one day to keep the hole alive otherwise the hole will close.

yes even my brother also had upanayan ceremony. nose piercing is not at all needed. and ear piercing is do to wear a bighbali. and there is no need to wear earrings after that. we are living in 21th century so according to time we should also change some of our customs.

Hey bro I agree with you. It is not girl to boy transformation. The info given in the post by Anjali is too scary an no boy will be ready to go for Upnayama after reading her post.

No...but not completely no.He was the one behind my nose piercing ceremony. You don´ t know how much it did hurt me...:´ (
But unfortunately i had to take the stud out very soon and after the piercing and i lost my hole....:( i was screming like anything...LOL!!! He was the one who was holding my hands tightly. He suggested the idea to my parents that all the Brahmin girls have mutliple studs in ears and hole in nose....So my mother planned and did it for me..So should´ nt i return some gift??!!! :P After all i am not planning for any soldering and all..:) More over its all fun...:)

So what about the locks?
is it also permanent??
So it will be a kinda idea to solder...but it is the gimikki that will create the problem...coz is a boy nah!!...:P i really dont know what is soldering...i think it is the melting of the metal??? is it...:D hehehe LOL...but that will surely be cruel....But we girls went through this all nah!!?? :P
\" WHY SHOULD BOYS HAVE ALL THE FUN!!!????\" ..hehehe...:D so i think when you melt the gold it will surely cause a burn in the hole.Is it??..kool but in a confusion...:(

its going to be nice to perform the sacred thread ceremony for your brother, being a twin brother i am sure there must be a lot of sibling rivalry, and this ceremony will give you a nice opportunity to get back at him.even i am from a brahmin family and my younger brother went through this.since our family is not very conservative, only his ears were pierced and that too because i insisted on it and forced my parents to do get his ears pierced.unfortunately my brothers head was not shaved, even though i wanted him to be bald so that i could tease him ( i am a mean big sister :P).nose piercing is not compulsory but if you want to see him in pain, then pierce his nose,it also kinda looks cute.

I do not agree with the soldering because it is going to a temperature of 1064 degree Celsius. That is the melting point of GOLD!!!how can you suggest such an idea??We cannot even touch that temperature. But how can we give such a temperature to a cut place? Can you suggest any other method??

Subject:  pain is necessary

dear Anjaly, this ceremony involves a lot of things with pain like piercing, shaving and many other things,so your brother will have to tolerate it.yes soldering the earring will pain a lot, what it does is,it will permanently attach the earring(that is the gimmiki) to the earring-screw,hence your brother won´ t be able to remove it.no,only one type of earring he can wear.yes it will be cruel.there is no chance for infection as the very high temperatures produced during soldering removes any microbes.you try to install a small lock behind the earrings. No,the feminizing of the boy is not all required,we do it just to enjoy looking at his humiliation in fun manner )

arre you are his twin sister,so you have to take control.tell your mom to hold his hands tightly or while he is sleeping tie his hands, and he is all yours!.so pierce his ears, nose and wherever you want ).for the jimmiki, you can a ask a goldsmith to solder the jimmiki to the earrings´ screw.that way it he can remove them and they will dangle from his ears, and you can tease him all day.for his clothes, you take all his clothes and hide/dispose them,so the only choice for him is to wear your clothes!also make him wear bangles, necklaces, payals(anklets),tikka(head jewellery).that will make him look more like a girl, and more importantly he will FEEL feminine which is important.also dont shave his head till the ceremony.boys with long hair look feminine.if you have more doubts about what to do to your brother feel free to ask me.and more importantly enjoy yourself as you transform your twin brother into a twin sister! by the way, what is his name?also are you from south india?
