Try out extra virgin coconut oil for skin care its excellent for dry skin.

For those of you suffering from dry, rough and wrinkled skin, virgin coconut oil is a very good solution, as it can be used on everything from your heels to your scalp, providing lasting moisture and evening out the texture of the skin.
Most of the traditional face and body creams are predominantly water, which allows moisture to be quickly absorbed into the skin (especially if we´ re talking dry skin) - however, the feeling of smoothness doesn´ t last too long, as water is either absorbed into the bloodstream or evaporates. The creams and lotions that we use on a daily basis also contain some type of highly refined vegetable oil devoid of all natural protective antioxidants our skin needs to fight free radicals. Virgin coconut oil, however, is the exact opposite: in fact, there are scientists who claim that coconut oil is the best natural ingredient for skin lotions available on the market.
First of all, coconut oil prevents the formation of destructive free radicals. Massage it into your skin and you won´ t have to worry about liver spots and many other types of blemishes caused by old age or exposure to sunlight. It will even out your skin, give it a more healthy-looking texture and a subtle glow that is bound to reflect on your overall state of mind. Massage it into your skin at night after cleaning your face thoroughly and doing a body scrub - while you´ re in the shower, you can also use it either as a pre-wash hair conditioner to fight off dandruff, or as a normal conditioner, massaging it into your scalp after using your regular shampoo. Give coconut oil a chance to heal your skin, and you´ re bound to see results very quickly.

What Can You Use As a Skin Moisturizer?

The safest moisturizer that I recommend is pure virgin coocnut oil. It is inexpensive and all natural - the important point that needs to be understood is that anything applied to the skin is absorbed by the body and processed through the organs. Enriched with extra virgin coconut oil to leave the skin soft and
moisturised. Naturally

The ideal lotion is one that not only softens the skin, but protects it against damage, promotes healing and gives it a more youthful, healthy appearance. Pure virgin coconut oil is the best natural ingredient for skin lotion available. It prevents destructive free radical formation and provides protection against them. It can help to keep the skin from developing liver spots, and other blemishes caused by aging and over exposure to sunlight. It helps to keep connective tissues strong and supple so that the skin doesn´ t sag and wrinkle. In some cases it can even restore damaged or diseased skin. The oil is absorbed into the skin and into the cell structure of the connective tissues, limiting the damage excessive sun exposure can cause.

Virgin Coconut oil will not only bring temporary relief to the skin, but it will aid in healing and repairing. It will have lasting benefits, unlike most lotions. It can help bring back a youthful appearance. The coconut oil will aid in removing the outer layer of dead skin cells, making the skin smoother. The skin will become more evenly textured with a healthy \" shine\" . While doing this the coconut oil will penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and strengthen the underlying tissues

Subject:  Why not change your diet

Hi,
I used to have exactly the same problem as you are now having.

In the past, my skin used to be as dry and coarse as a sandpaper. It was flaky and red as well. I once had skin problems from head to toes. I resolved all that by taking oils into my diets.

Today, I no longer have any dry, coarse, flaky skin.

I guess that you have been long on a low-fat diet which explains the dryness of your skin. If you are trying to keep your weight down and at same time, to resolve your skin problems, why not lower your intake of carbohydrates and increase your intakes of health-friendly oils, preferably cold-pressed, those being the sources of omega 3, 6 and 9. Try modified Atkins diet. Research online into atkins diets. Try the MODIFIED Atkins diets, rather than classic Atkin diet.

Sources of omega 3 are some seeds and their oils. These are flaw seeds (also linen seeds), all types of fish.

Sources of omega 6 are sunflowers' seeds, hemp seeds, Evening Primrose oils, etc.

Source of omega 9 are olives. Try olive oils, even for cooking. Omega 9 isn' t really necessary, as long as you consume sufficient omega 3 and 6 oils. In fact, omega 3 and 6 are convertible to omega 9 within body. So you don' t have to worry about getting enough of omega 9 from your diets.

Ensure to consume plenty of combined omega 3, 6 and 9 oils. For snacks, eat plenty of pumpkin seeds, sunflowers seeds, poppy seeds, walnuts, etc.

As you are in California, go to health store and buy yourself a bottle of Udo' s Oil Blend. This oil was devised by Dr. Udo Eramus. Optionally, pour this oil on top of salad, toasts, soups, whatever. Within a week, you should start to see any oncoming improvements in your skin.

I hope my suggestion is of any help to you.

I want to know what is it that you have tried till date and what has failed.
From the original post all I can say is get some dry skin moisturiser from a good company, I personally use clinique brand skin regime, but see if that helps.
Also california is a warm place so hopefully you drink a lot of water to help your skin remain healthy.

Do you have any other problems beside dry skin or is this the primary concern.

Give us more details and we can try to cater to your specific needs.

with scarring on your face, do not use any exfoiliating products with beads, all cleaners should be very gentle and use a oil-free sun screen, this will help even out your tans...actually there is no way to remove a tan unless you go through crazy chemical procedures and thats horrible for your face.

In addition, taking vitamin e supplements will make your skin stronger and heal scars.
