Mine is 9 months, he can sit unsupported but just for a short time, but he likes to stand holding on to teapoy for long, i guess he is skipping sitting stage. He is also very active, and i struggle with him while changing diaper especilly when he had pooped. I do what Hetal told, i give him something which he has never got to play with at diaper change time. Say my hand purse/tumbler or anything which he gets attracted to.
Make sure that you change the toy before ur kid gets bored with it. May be in 2-3 days. It really works.

hi, its normal..soon your baby will be cruising around,,and allow him to do so..
this shows your baby liveliness.

give him something to play that he loves all the time, if nothing give him some utensil like spoon or something that he gets interested in..often kids once they enter 8months and onwards want to play with kitchen items,,somehow they love it more than all the expensive toys !
and then change diaper..
its ok for baby to miss or pass on a particular milestone with less practise or less timings.. my baby started sitting eversince she was 4months but i allowed her to sit without my support from 5mnths onwards, and she sat more than in neother milestone..she was sitting for almost 2months, and she crawled only 15-20 days, and after that she was standing for a month and then started walking with support in 10days and in another 5days without support ! so it dpends on each baby individual growth,,surprisingly in excitement sometimes she is not able to get up on time when we play catch me if you can, she crawls away and runs away from me..i was surprised to see her crawling and running away so fast, when she was learning she never crawled that fast !!! in couple babies cases, where i saw they never had a good sitting but later they started crawling and standing and then they wanted to sit more than cruising around..at this point of them, your baby leg bones have achieved enough strength to hold his body then the strength compared to his backbone, so as a survival instinct your baby will follow and grow according to whichever is strongest...make sure you allow him full support nd at your next visit to dr, talk to your dr, that if its safe for your baby to let him stand and if at all there is ne possibility of bow legs,,because it all depends on his weight, height and his legs strength,,hwoever, most bow legs occur due to heavy body babies,,otherwise not.
also, note that this does not mean that right now your baby is not able to sit means he willnever sit, he will, at the most after he masters walking,,he will neway have to sit,,by that time, his backbone, muscles all will also become stronger than right now.and it is that time, you have to worry if he does not sit or feels uncomfortable while sitting,,at the most you will be prescribed some calcium supplements for your lilone...

so share with your dr and he will advice you to let your baby stand or not depending on his growth percentile from birth !!!
so baby growth/limbs mature or develop differently in different stages of their life, what matters down the line they arent feeling ne discomfort while using them,,so just make sure about it.
trust your baby survival instincts, let him grow in watever direction he is growing right now,,but just keep an eye on everything and share with your dr in next visit !

good luck

hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
