can anybody tell me the english meaning for Vekhand powder (Hindi word).
I have a 3months old daughter.Her skin color is not even. She has a very fair complexion right from her face to stomach but her arms and legs are too dark in color.Is there anything I can do to improve her skin color.Iam very much worried about this. She is also allergic to gram flour.Please advice.

don't worry......

You shouldn't be worried about your babies skin colour. There has been a bias towards fair skin, but that is changing. Many models are dark complexioned. Since she is so young I advise you to let her be. She can worry about these matters when she is older.

You're right, there has been biased in ways of skin color. I hope it isn't based on my saying my eldest daughther has fair skin. :-(

My husband and I have darker skin than our daughter. She just takes after her Grandfather (My Dad)...

With infants, it's difficult to tell what their complexion will be and it doesn't really matter; at least it should not matter.

My only concern when my 4 year old was an infant was with her blotchy complexion, it was patchy and uneven. I worried because I thought something may have been wrong (I was a new Mommy at that time)...later, as she got a bit older, her skin tone evened out a lot.

As far as skin color goes itself, I believe we should not tamper with skin bleaching or other skin ligther remedies...we should just accept our selves the way we are.

complexion worries

Hello,

I'm a Mommy of a little girl who will be 5 months old soon.

I would just wait a little while before attempting anything on her skin for a while. Since she is so young, infants have such delicate skin.

Her complexion may improve over time...during this first year.

What you can do to help protect her skin at this time is keeping her out of the sun, especially direct sunlight.

My eldest daughter had a fairly uneven complexion at her infancy, but now, she's 4 years old and has beautiful, very fair skin all over.
