Health Concerns:Vaginal Discharge @ 27th Week
2006-04-13
Name: vidhya

Hi,
Iam vidya and in 27th week and had a vaginal discharge which was watery (4-8 drops). I was in hospital for a day and was sent back with antibiotics with doctors advice saying unless there is a gush there is nothing to worry.
Today i am experiencing some more discharge in frequent intervals ( 10 drops or more).
Though iam on antibiotics to avoid any infection. Iam really worried whether this would affect my baby? Whether the fluid for baby would decrease? and when to press the panic button and whether i would go into premature labour?

Archie can you kindly clarify the same for me asap pls?

vidhya,
it's normal to experience enhanced vaginal discharge but 10 drops is little too much. since you were admitted for the same reason you want to bring this concern to your Dr. and see what s/he has to offer on this scenario.

may be an ultrasound would do to know cervix length and if required you can have it stitched or if it's normal then keep off the infections.

Thanks for your input archie, Since an ultrasound was taken around 10-15 days back and everything was normal, My doc advised me not to go for it frequently and in this case she ruled it out.
I will however discuss with her about the cervix length and would get back with more inputs.
Thanks
Vidhya
