my hubby has just been diagnosed with high blood sugar,i came across ur diet suggestion....is it better to eat the bitter gaurd cooked or raw?ur help is appreciated.

Just saw ur post and i just wanted to tell u not be tensed- well even i've had diabetes for almost one year and if u're from the oct board then u'll know me- bitter gourd can be eaten raw or cooked- it depends how high the sugar level is- taking the medicine as prescribed and following a good diet keeps the sugar levels under control- and ask ur hubby to eat small and frequent meals- generally people think it has something to do with taking lot of sugar but its mostly to do with carbs- if u are in US the doctors will ask u to see a dietican and they will help u very much- if ur hubby doesn't like taking raw bitter gourd let him eat it cooked- well even exercise or simple walk for 45 mins helps very much- i was a bit over weight and reducing my weight also helped me very much- don't worry everything will be alright-
