I am actually from the august board but was trying to find solutions to the flu and was adviced by another member to look up here. Since a few of you have had the flu and are thankfully over with it, I need to know about the medication I am taking. I had 102 F fever two days back and tylenol did not help so my doc pres motrin 200 mg which contains ibuprofen (2 tabs every 6 hrs). this has kept my flu in control but I read on the net that there have been cases of malformation in the 6th week. I am in the 8th week and a bit worried. I cant take the flu shot as I am in the first tri. Anyone has taken this medication during pregnancy please do let me know?

hi rashmi

my docotr suggested me tking tylenol every four hours and then if the temp doesnt go down to take a warm shower. that really helps..
then again he gave me antibiotic safe for pregnancy,,-amoxillin...well the antibiotic was mainly to prevent viral pneumonia which is common if the flu goes severe i think..
anywway ,, just trust your docotr, cos everyones situation is different , so whatever my doc prescribed may not be the same for you too..
