Hair Care:Face Shaving of Boys

Name: Arun Rama

I a facing a problem of guiding school going boys in age group of 10 to 16 years of my neighbourhood.Seeing my smart and regular \" machine cuts\" Several boys wants to \" shave\" their emerging moustache and chin hairs. They are shy to admit the same to their fathers. I am confused because some say shaving at an early age will make the facial hairs hard later on. But, my barber says nothing like that. I have talked to two of the boys' fathers they say they want their boys to be \" smart looking\" but they are not sure what is right age for start shaving. I feel once in a month when a boy goes to saloon for his haircut it is better to get the face also cleaned up. Once in a month shaving should not harm much. Please help with your knowledge.

Hi Arun,
I am a third year engineering student. In my opinion, barbers like any other human beings would select some favourites and provide some extra services. Congrats for being one of them. Your barber is getting professional satisfaction by \" working\" on you. This may answer your question(s). Further, barbers tend to finish some customers quickly because they are not comfortable with such customers and hence they may not do \" shaving\" on such customers on their own.

Hi All,
I am not clear why barbers do not clean-up the face of boys in the age group of 10 to 17 years on their own while \" razoring\" . Because of this, many of my friends sport hairs on their faces while coming out of saloon after haircut. They do not want to shave in the saloon because of extra charge. Whereas in my case there is no extra charge for \" shaving\" as well as for \" head massage\" . Though three of my friends are as regular as I am to the same saloon I am getting a far better treatment. I do not know why?

Hi Nitin and Dev,
Thank you for the response. I totally agree with Nitin because it is embrassint to \" shave\" in the house at that age. My barber removes the moustache and chin hair on his own without waiting for my permission. This is happening since my ninnth standard and now I am in third year of engineering and I am nineteen years of age. Since almost three years I am having \" machine cuts\" with the same barber and he does his routine shaving. I visit saloon regularly once in a month. I have not experienced any beard roughness so far.

I am boy of 14 years stduying tenth standard.I agree with Arun since I myself have shaving during my haircuts because it is awkward to carry chin hairs and roughness of beard according to my father depends on diet.

Texturizing spray for thin hair
Hello everyone,
I have medium volume hair but my hair type is very thin and silky. Due to which my hair doesn't hold curls for long hours. I have heard that texturizing spray helps to solve the above problem. Could someone please suggest the good texturizing spray for thin hair?... - Amulya Peru [View Message]
