Yesterday a strange but cute thing happned:-)I wana share it with u,---yesterday my house maid wasnt feeling well,so she had sent her mom n aunt 2 do the work..Her mom asked me,do u have any kids?I said NO..Then she stared at me top 2 bottom,n she asked me r u carrying?(I donno how she cud make out,coz I wore a lose long nighty,God her sharp eyes)I said YES,then immediately she told ur gon have a baby\" BOY\" .I was dumbstruck for a while..Didnt expect any prediction so afst atleast.But later her aunt to luked at my tummy(4m far obviosly)n she too told ur carrying a \" Baby Boy\" ..Now I had 2 blv it..coz 2 ppl told..n anywys I agrued with them saying,how can u predict so afst?she said,we r experienced we know n can make out by luking at ur structure n tummy...I was like okie...Then I said it wud be gud if it was a baby GIRL..But they told,what 2 do,ur gona have a baby boy....Anyways at the end,all that I want is a n healthy baby..thats all...So I didnt argue with them further....

so I' ve posted this post,2 share sum cute but weird predictions,so mommies if u cum thru any other cute predictions,do share it here....
I know sum 3 cute ones--
1..Normally they say if ur face is glowing its ababy \" Girl\" ,n if ur face aint glowing its baby \" Boy\" ....hmm again my face aint glowing!


2..If u eat voraciously then its a baby boy,if otherwise,its a girl...(My case again I' m hogging a lot,that isnt usually me..This prgenancy has got this change:-) )

3..well at my place normally while making kajal(yes we make kajal)we can find out whetehr its a baby boy or girl.Lemme elucidate--
Its said that while making kajal we shd think abt any pregnant ladies n pray God n start making kajal(yes the traditonal way,we do it with 4 big brass cups ,castor oil n blah blah).By the end when kajal is collecetd in the form of blak precipitate it wud have had taken the shape of baby boy or girl...yes it works..Coz I had made kajal for one of my cousin who was carying then.N I cud see baby boy.I told her abt it,n yes,she delivered a baby boy...
well I' m gona do this kajal thing when I go 2 my mom' s place n surely then let u mommies know the result...

Fore me, yes once when I was just 3 month preggie.. my father-in-law told to my Mother-in-law that he is going to have son-in-law.. well I dont know it was a mere predicion or something else...but, If I try to predict by myself then am getting confused..

1. I am carrying high
2. My husband says that I am glowing.. but I feel my skin is becoming darker.. but I am not getting pimples on my face. but My sister-in-law got lot of pimples when she was pregnant and she has a boy.. so again confused
3. yesterday I dreamt of carrying a baby boy. My husband didn' t dream of anything like that.. but he used to say that its a boy...
4. Heart beat : In my 3rd and 4th month scan it was about 153 but in 20 weeks scan it shows only 137b/min.
5. In my office, my collegue suddenly told me that I am carrying baby boy...

Now with all above believings I must say that I am carrying a baby boy.. but still have 3 and half months to know exactly.

Well, I know.. we all waiting for a happy and healthy baby...

I was going through the inputs you all have shared so far...and found them really interesting....i m in the 24th week of my first pregnancy and reading all your comments have got soo confused tht making guesses has also become difficult.....my mom in law says its gonna b a boy..n so is wht my hubby wants but me a lil too inclined for a girl....Meghnah plz help me with tht Kajal experience...lemme give it a shot too...well...on a second thot i think y not wait for God to surprise me or my family....i jus want my child to b healthy and like me....lol Rakhi replied. yes.i agree..most of the time it comes out to be true..dunno why..cud be the experience!

some of the old wives tales that i know r:
1. if u r carrying low n in front, it is a boy and if u r carrying high n all over, its a girl.

2. if u crave for salty things, its a boy. if sweets then its a girl.

3. if ur face is glowing its a boy..else girl. a boy is said to enhance his mother' s beauty whereas a girl is said to steal it.

4. if the dark line that runs down the navel id straight then its a boy or else its a girl.

5. if the baby is very active then again its a boy or else girl.

but i cant say abt myself! if i go by the predictions, then for soem it comes out to be boy..for some it comes girl..also i dont know the heartbeat rate..so looks like i wont be able to predict going by the old wives tales. even for my frnds, the old wives tales results were a bit confusing..but one thing that i have noticed is that for most of them (except 1) the chinese calendar predicted correctly.

megs-the kajal thing is interesting..i never knew abt it..someone else has to do it for u or u can do it for urself?

and ya..regarding the hubby dreaming..is it at night or day dreaming? LOL..i know its a silly question but i got confused.

hahaha, good 1. most of the times, these elderly womens predictins cme out true.

If u want 2 guess baby' s gender, I wud say heavily rely on heartbeat rate. 1> If its more than 145 then its baby girl.
2> I have heard if its baby girl, ur face glows (pretty confusing.)

and in my case, both the above conditions are matching with my baby' s gender. yesssss... I m carrying baby girl. her heartbeat rate has always been higher, to start with it was 172 now it has stedily remained at 156. and yesss.. my face glows. :-)

before knowing baby' s gender in U/S, I had visit 2 my gynec. that time I asked her 2 guess, n she also said its gonna be girl by looking at heartbeat rate.

so, Meghna, check heartbeat rate, n kajal making prediction, n let us know. we r eager 2 know.

well coming to predictions..for the first one I heard really opposite thing..

I heard that if your face isnt glowing ..like it is dull or turns dark then you are carrying girl..

I have two friends..who told me this ..both of their faces became dull during pregnancy..and one of them became very dark during the 9th month..and both of them have cute little girls ....

so now I am comparing my skin changes with theirs...today I am looking really dull...(even though I am eating fruits and drinking juices)..so I am guessing that i am carrying GIRL :))))

and your kajal thing is very interesting..never heard of that...do share it with us..when you do that at your mom' s place..and dont forget to share the results :))


I want to share one more funny prediction

The baby will be what your husband dreams of...if your husband is dreaming of boy..then it is boy...
or else it is girl..
I know this is really stupid prediction...but some of our colleagues here are asking me this question..
and my husband is dreaming of cute girl..so I guess it is GIRL..

I just hope I come to know if it is boy or girl in my next appointment...
