Hi

I am a new user here.I am currently 16 weeks pregnant.During 8th week and 14th week i had heavy bleeding and clots also passed.I went to ER 2 times.Saw the baby and Heartbeat.Looks fine,Second time only my ob did ultrasound and found i have lowlying placenta. But i asked abt progestrone supplement. She told here we cant give like that.
Upto 20 weeks we cant do anything. It will move on its own like that.Is it true or i have to change the OB.Also i had group b strep infection and also my uterus is retroverted. Please give me some suggestions!!'

Thanks
Raji

Progesterone is to help sustain your pregnancy. The bleeding due to low progesterone is different from your kind of bleeding. So there is no need to suspect OB.

Not to put too much concern, the worst case if your placenta does not move up is bedrest. Just to prepare, not to scare you. It is for your best interest to take the bedrest if recommended. But in most cases, the placenta moves up on its own.

Do not engage in heavy work. Try to avoid climbing stairs.

For group B strep (GBS) - many women have this naturally. They will again do a swab to check GBS before delivery. If again positive, they will give you IV antibiotics to prevent passage to child. It is nothing to worry about. Happens to lot of women.

Hi Raji,

I too had the same problem. During the 10th week i had bleeding. But now i am in my 25th week. And in the last scan my doctor said that everything was good. you only have to rest and restrict your work. Dont do any heavy work and take as much rest as possible. Thats wat i did too and it helped me a lot.i think it will move up naturally.

cheers,
sowmya
