I am 4 weeks pregnant and is taking prenatal tabs. Can anyone let me know whether there is any side effects for these tabs? After started taking this tab I see a color change in my stool. Its sort of black, is it normal? I am worried, Please reply.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!!
i too have been taking prenatals. i did not have any color change because of prenatals. but recently my doctor alos suggeted me taking iron tablets. yes, with the iron tablets you do have darkening of stools to greenish black color.my doctor siad it was normal.
i dont know if you are taking only prenatals or also iron .
anyway to be on the safer side i would suggest you talk to your doctor.
enjoy your pregnacy and dont worry , i hope its nothing.,

I talked with my doc yesterday and he said its normal to see the color change but had asked me to take lot of fiber. Can you suggest me something which will help me improve my fiber intake?

Thanks for your reply. No I am not taking any iron tabs with this prenatal. As you said I think I should talk to my doc today itself.
