i am feeling very bad, i got my test done for GCT , HB and Urine routine and microscopy.
and i failed in all three. i am depressed, feeling really bad ,sad, infact angry with my ownself
i am really upset cos of that, tell me what are the consequences of failure in the GCT Test

I have met doctor on saturday and got GTT also done which proved that i am suffering from Gestational diabetes. now all fruit juices, sugar content things , absolutely no to sugar ,ghee etc. and doctor says time is less so i have to keep track of days to control it. For UrineTest i got done Urine routine and microscopy where the range was 5-6 , i was on higher side, for same doctor says may be some vaginal infection but do not worry about.

rest all is fine . I request all on board to let me know some good recipe without sugar and ghee much involved, and which is full of protein

2ndtmom replied. and control ur carbs.. I know its easy to say:-) I had GD during first and I had normal weight baby and that too past my due date:-) even now sometimes after \";bad\";:-) meal I check my sugar, just to be on the safe side..

its very normal so no need to worry.. and there is chance for it to go away evn in 3-4 weeks and u will be normal again.. remember its all harmonal change which ur body and baby is creating:-) it will be gone soon.. good Luck Archie replied. Dear Parul,
Failure of GCT should not depress you. This is another name to GTT, glucose tolerance test. In otherwords to test Gestational diabetes. It's good to know that you have gestational diabetes so that you can take care of it either by diet or with insulin.
If not treated GD, babies born under these conditions are likely to suffer from hepatitis (neonatal) will go away and no complications in future for baby. It may make baby run with high fever for first three-five days. But that's again possible to take care off. When you find you have GD youwill be cautious about what you eat and etc. This will help you avoid all complications associated due to GD.

Babies born under this condition not necessarily have diabetes in life only their chances are doubled than any other baby.

Mother is not necessarily going to be a diabetic in future, only in her subsequence pregnancy GD chances are doubled.

Have controlled diet and you will have baby without any single complications.

What's to do with your Urine results? can you tell us?

HB, don't worry, about that too. Your Dr. will prescribe you some Iron tablets and you will be fine. Only watch after iron intake you may constipate. Include green vegetables and prune juice in your diet.
